The Burberry bags Fall 2010 are kind of a shame when you consider the brilliant collection from whence they came. Not only are they plain and boring, but they weren’t even close to being the most interesting leather pieces in the show – that honor went to the many heavily-detailed leather jackets and vests that graced the runway.
For all the intricate leather work that clearly went into the jackets, the handbags were shown none of the same attention by Christopher Bailey & Co.
The latticed python seen on a few pieces was an interesting-enough technique, but the simplistic shapes don’t do anything to help the cause.

Chanel Spring 2011

These Chanel Spring 2011 are the exact opposite of a Spring 2011 Louis Vuitton line that is brash and flashy. And, while I still haven`t decided what to think of the LV collection, I instantly fell in love with these Chanel bags. They are a subtle reinvention of Chanel`s classic take on luxury – they`re perfect!
One of the major complaints hurled at Chanel in recent years is that their new designs can be staid, and unadventurous. I can easily see these same complaints being placed on this collection (though their fall line certainly avoided this problem). But, is there really a problem with having a signature look? The quilted leather, dashes of glitter, and modernist lines in this Spring collection all scream Chanel – but is anybody else really making bags that are this luxurious and this wearable?
