Chloè purses have come a long way since Egyptian born Parisian designer Gaby Aghion launched Chloe’ in 1952. Gaby’s ideas revolutionized the world of haute couture fashion by designing high quality clothing and accessories that were available off the rack. Her designs were soft, form fitting and made of the highest quality fabrics and leathers. This was a trend that many designers caught on to and is the reason that Chloè is considered to be a trend setter in the world of fashion design.
Aghion revealed the first Chloè designer collection in 1956 along with her business partner Jacques Lenoir. The collection was well received by the fashion world so Gaby and Lenoir went to work in earnest. Chloè continued to evolve when Karl Lagerfeld joined Chloe in the sixties, his input created a more exclusive appeal to the designer fashions. By 1970 Jackie Kennedy and Brigitte Bardot frequently wore Chloè designs which increased the overall popularity of the line of clothing and accessories.
Dunhill Holdings bought out Chloe in 1985 and Gaby Aghion and Jacques Lenoir left Chloe to pursue other interests. Chloè purses and accessories continued to be popular even without these brilliant designers’ talents and are in great demand today. Today Chloè purses are the favorite accessory of many celebrities young and old. Kate Bosworth and the Olsens’, Mary-Kate and Ashley, are seen carrying Chloe purses frequently. When they are seen with the fashionable purses, demand for those particular Chloe purses skyrockets, just as in the days of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Over the past 50 years Chloe’ has been led by many of the most influential designers in history: Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, and Phoebe Philo among them. Gaby’s dream of beautiful, fashionable designs available for all women to wear lives on especially in Chloè purses.
